Fun Conversational French classes in a relaxed setting. My classes emphasize having fun while learning!
No one likes the drudgery of learning verb tenses and vocabulary by heart, but put into enjoyable
conversational sessions it can actually be pleasant to learn French.
The following classes meet for 5 or 6 weeks, then take a 1 or 2 week break. This schedule continues throughout the year.
Beginning/Intermediate
| Wednesday evening | 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. |
- This class requires some French grammar and conversational background. We are using a reader chapter book, provided in class, interspersed with continuing grammar lessons. Spontaneous conversation is encouraged, although this class is not conducted all in French.
Conversational
| Tuesday morning | 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. |
- The focus of this class is conversation, and each week a different subject is presented. The class is conducted almost exclusively in French. Our topics are varied and spontaneous. Some grammar is discussed, but that is not the focus of this class. A good grasp of conversation is required.
Intermediate/Advanced
| Monday evening | 7 - 8:30 p.m. |
- Practical and spontaneous conversations are an important part of this class, with grammar and conversation relative to short stories that we read. The book grammaire progressive du français is used periodically. French is only spoken in this class.
Advanced
| Tuesday evening | 7 - 8:30 p.m. |
- This class is conducted all in French. A variety of topics are discussed each week while continuing to work on grammar as they relate to the conversations. We are continuing to work from the book Grammaire Progressive du Français.
French Club
| Thursday evenings | 7 - 8:30 pm |
- This group is for fluent speakers. If you have a good command of French and just want an evening of fun conversation, then this is the ideal setting for you to keep up your French. We discuss any and all subjects in a relaxed setting.
The key to all of these groups is the laughter that is generated by everyone who attends, and a relaxed
setting which makes the learning process more fun and easier. We occasionally watch French films, to
add to the comprehension part of the language. Each class has a lovely "goûter" break where we enjoy
wine, cheese and desserts. Come join us and see what fun you will have ... even while learning French!
